AGÁLI

Sandy and pebble beach reached by a paved road and served by a public bus departing from Chora, which is about 4 km away.
There is no natural shade on the beach, but there are restaurants and snack bars. We point out the Amoudaki beach bar and the Psaromiligos Tavern, alias Panagiotis, where Italian is also spoken.

Agali pier is the departure point for boats to the beaches of Agios Nikolaos and Livadaki.

Two paths start from Agali: one, on the right, for the beaches of Galifos (5/10 minutes walk) and Agios Nikolaos (20 minutes) and one on the left for Firá beach (10 minutes).

AGIOS NIKÓLAOS

Easy path from Agali (20 minute walk) or small boats from Agali with frequent departures. Natural shade and taverns.

Made of sand and pebbles, it is one of the most “fashionable” beaches of Folegandros.

It can be reached from Agali, either with a path on the right of the beach that requires a 20-minute walk, or with small boats departing from the pier.

It is by far the best positioned bay with respect to the winds and a part of the beach is shaded by maritime pines.

Agios Nikolaos tavern on the beach, serves traditional cuisine and fish.

Papalagi Restaurant in fabulous hilltop location, run by Paris and family; excellent home cooking and fresh fish. Paris and some staff members speak Italian

AGIOS GEORGIOS

Made of sand and pebbles, it is located on the north-western tip of the island and can be reached:

– walk from Ano Meria, along a mule track (45 minutes) which starts at the “Maria” tavern

– with your own transportation, as there are no public transport services, either by land or by sea, passing the town of Ano Meria and continuing on a dirt road with steep sections indicated on the right side of the main road.

It is very exposed to the “meltemi” and to the winds coming from the north.

Some trees shade the area behind the beach and there are no refreshment points.

In Ano Meriá, the obligatory route to reach the beach, we point out:

– the Maragoudiko Tavern, excellent meat and vegetarian dishes and the famous Skepastí, a dish served in Folegandros only in this place;

Chrysospilia, café and honey shop, its derivatives and home-made jams, all produced in Folegandros

Tiny beach of white pebbles located in a deep bay in the far north of the island on the south-west coast. It can be reached by a 45 minute walk from the Ano Meria bus terminus, continuing in the opposite direction to the town and taking a mule track indicated on the left side of the main road or with your own transportation, passing Ano Meria and following a dirt road that starts from the end of the main asphalted road.

The port bay

Long beach of pebbles located on the seafront of the port and shaded by maritime pines.

It can be reached by car or scooter or with a 2-minute walk from the port bus stop.

Clean sea, considering the small number of ships docking in Folegandros.

Restaurants, snack bars and mini markets.

We point out the tavern Il Capo del Porto, excellent traditional cuisine and some delicious unusual dishes; very pleasant also for dinners in the moonlight

.

LATINÁKI

Inserted in the wide bay of the port, on the opposite side of the pier, it is one of the coves that you meet along the coastal road that connects the port to the beach of Livadi. A stairway leads from the main road to the beach. It can also be reached on foot from the port bus stop, which is about 700 meters away.

It is a narrow pebble beach on the northern side of the island, reachable only on foot, by taking a path that starts about halfway between Chora and Agali on the right-hand side; the ascent is quite difficult. It is particularly exposed to the “meltemi” and to the winds coming from the north, but on calm days the sea that bathes it is of an incomparable turquoise.
